as a jewish person i would rather have arafat alive than dead
Atleast he could keep the troops in line (for the most part) but now that he is gone there is no central leadership which would make dealing with the fractions that much harder.
Times are only going to get wose :( |
I agree and I hear the same thing from many friends, but again peace or chaos should not depend on one man's life. And of course this genious Bush believes the opposite.
President Bush hopes the death of Yasser Arafat on Thursday will clear the way for successful Mideast peace negotiations with new Palestinian leaders. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6458868/ |
either way consider it 1 More Dead Muslim to chalk up... SCORE for mankind.

IF (and its a long shot) he manages to pull peace out of his hat for the middle east then i could honestly give him some props and respect BUT we know that will never happen since there is no $ for his personal bank account involved. |
IMO Bush had his chance when he was elected and he should have continued with the efforts of the last administration.
Instead he persued an isolationist policy and left the middle east to itself... until 9/11 . |
I don't see any other Palestinian who can fill Arafat's shoes. Bush is a fool. Nobody else is going to have the same influence and respect as Arafat. Besides, why is it that Clinton had no problem dealing with Arafat? The problem was not Arafat, but Bush and Sharon. When Clinton and Rabin were in power there was plenty of progress towards peace.

Clinton wanted a solution and tried hard, for Bush I really doubt. Middle East problem is an influence factor under his administration and nothing else.

Damn wars....:(

The middle east has been at war since the dawn of man. It will never end.

Who ever takes over could be worse not better.... |
Let's put it this way.
Arafat had protection and Israel could not take him out. Whoever is next will not have protection, so if the next Palestinian leader fucks up, he will finish like yassin and other hamas scum. Therefore, whoever is next after Arafat knows that they can either fuck up and meet 72 twinks or work for peace and live. :2 cents: |

Amazing how such a high percentage of Americans voted for a person who could not work out the importance of the Israel/Palestine conflict. |

What do you think will happen when 13 waring factions with no unity get pushed into a hole? They will fight over scarce resources. They will not have the time or energy to be fighting Israelis, they will be fighting themselves. And after some time, most of the terrorists will have killed themselves fighting each other. With noone to formally lead them and refocus their hate on Israel, they will hate each other and will live life as street gangs in their shithole neighborhoods just like in Sierra Leone or Mogadishu, Somalia.
It will be a brief time of peace and safety for the people of Israel. What a glorious day. |
what the fuck do you being jew have to do with arafat...i thought all that hoopla had to do with israeli's & palestinian's
