Anyone? - Use DRM on MEMBER'S area videos?

I was wondering if anyone here uses DRM on their members videos so that the surfer has to be a current member to watch them?

I've been seriously thinking of doing this, but fear a backlash from my surfers.

I've been toying with the idea of making a 250kbps 240x180 version that they can always watch, and making my 740kbps 480x360 version be only veiwable while they are an actual member with DRM.

Anyone who's done this, I'd love to hear your experiences. Surfer's Comments? Chargebacks? Refunds?

no surfer blowback. we are effectively using DRM since we launched. the only questions we get are people that need to upgrade. as soon as they do, they are happy. doesn't affect retention either. our retention is the same as other members programs that i have been apart of.

DRM doesn't work for Mac users? Ouch.

Thanks for all your answers people. Would love to hear some more comments - good or bad.

DRM has worked great for us for the last 8 months. Its a shame it doesn't work on Macs but it only accounts for less than 2% of our traffic.
Give the surfer good quality exclusive content and you should have no problems.

And now you can get a DRM solution for MPEG and AVI video content as well.

We are currently running a Special untill the end of November - check it out. There's a reason why our customers are happy :)
