If I recall correctly the max possible under current law is 10 years, which could happen in a resignation or death scenario.

Under the Constitution, the President serves a four-year term. Amendment XXII (which took effect in 1951 and was first applied to Dwight D. Eisenhower starting in 1953) limits the President to either two four-year terms or a maximum of ten years in office should he have succeeded to the Presidency previously and served less than two years completing his predecessor's term.

More than likely it will end up being a Guiliani ticket Vs. whomever the Democrats can scrounge up. Considering sorry ass Kerry was promoted well enough to get 48% of the vote I'm sure the Dems will find someone suitable quickly.

Possibly. I thought I saw Guiliani say there was no way he would ever run, but anythings possible. As far as the dems, I don't know who they would get suitable, I mean really who is there? Hillary? Although I would love to see her in there I seriously doubt she would appeal to the majority of people.
