what do you use for leave button. I use yahoo.com - dont know why.

Gary 09-12-2001 09:20 AM

Ya, i send 40% of my traffic daily to yahoo.

deluxe 09-12-2001 09:26 AM

I don't have a leave button anymore...

I don't think that people that are not looking for porn will end up visiting my site. If they will they can always use the back button : )

Don't waste that traffic... !!! Make a page using some of those killer internet eraser text links that say "You have been found visiting adult sites" and all that other jazz that will work great on a surfer that was at a porn site when he didn't want to be.... then link that page to internet eraser obviously. I have just recently changed all my "exit" links from yahoo to IE.

Wizzo --

I don't get it. You actually think it's better to have no Leave or exit link and have that surfer just go back to where ever he came from instead of some place that could make you $$$. I understand that it's probably 1 out of ever 10 or 20,000 surfers that will actually click it but a high traffic site would really be throwing $$ away.... or at least the oppurtunity to make $$.

That's my humble opinion anyway http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

Well, lets not forget about minors getting to a porn site (looking for porn), reading the warning, getting scared, running for safety - thats where Leave Button comes in.

No ?

If you track it, It's MUCH higher than 1 in 20,000 or even 10,000 or for that matter 1000...

When I tested it, I found that a MUCH smaller percent exit with the back button than click a leave link.

I think it's a case of people just curious where it goes, so I think it's unwise to give them that option.

Most, if not ALL people that reach a warning page know why they are there and I only use warning pages to build suspense, not any other reason. For those that think it protects minors from entering, get off the crack...Remember, minors tend to be the most net savy of all! http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif

You make a very solid argument Wizzo.

I certainly don't think it's the minors that ever click that link, in fact I imagine the guy at work that may have received an email with a link in it, or maybe someone who was caught in an unexpected console chain. Most of my sites don't receive traffic this way but I guess it's my way of rationalizing it.

I will definetly be monitoring it a little more closely now. It will be interesting to see what happens. This week is going to be a terrible week to test anything unfortunately.

This isn't an ass kiss but the only sign ups I have had today are Drunksluts. Granted it's on the Hun now but I still didn't expect anything today at all.

no one will click leave button
because the same person that visited your porn site,,they was looking for it,,,

the Leave link has always been used to better your link popualerity so its good to keep it in,,,

also i noticed that some editors in DMOZ
like it when you place the dmoz.org link on it,,,

just something to think bou

We send all of our "Don't want to see adult stuff" traffic into a casino.

Could have easily retired on our casino income alone this year.

Our best success has been with http://www.iglobalmedia.com and their sexier casinos.
