should i play halo 2 or should i play first one first?

I don't get what is sooo cool with that game ... Is it a badass addictive multiplayer game you can play over and over and still get better or what ?

I've played halo 1 and didn't find it THAT interesting

My Xbox collected dust for a year before I hooked it up with xbox live. I had halo and it was fun to play but multiplayer will be WAY better because you're playing against other humans. I don't care how good the computer is, it doesn't compare to the cunning and sneakiness of a human opponent. Plus the game is always going to be different in multiplayer.

regular vs xboxlive is like eating cheap canned tuna instead of catching a fresh tuna out of the sea.

You're forgetting that there's also offline multiplayer. Few things are as much fun as playing with or against a bunch of your friends in the same room while drinking copious amounts of beer :glugglug
