I have a list of domains that are current sites, some with PR, some with traffic that

Are set to drop in a few days.

These domains are current sites right now.

Is it okay if i happen to buy it after it drops or is taht morallay wrong?

This is busines. If a webmaster is not bothering to renew his domains then he obviously doesn't care about them ...

If you feel bad about it, contact the current owner and offer to sell them back really cheap, even for reg cost alone.

Otherwise, biz is biz.

Really no point in regging it and selling it for reg price back to the owner

It's perfectly OK. For you to acquire the name, the domain would first have to go through a 30-day redemption grace period where the domain is disabled and won't resolve. During this time the owner has plenty of time to renew it and will surely be contacted by the registrar (assuming his contact information is accurate).

If the owner of a domain doesn't realize that his site is down for over a month, they don't deserve to hold on to it. :Graucho

Then don't reg it at all, just post it here ...

:Graucho

Nah, I just meant reg it because it could be a good investment, and then if the owner starts crying and saying that their email address is fucked up or something and they didn't know they had to renew, you COULD sell it back cheap.

But odds are if they didn't renew, they've forgotten about the site completely and it's up for grabs.

:winkwink:

I love the emails from women. For example:

"Please give me back my domain, I will send you some cookies".

LOL!

My response "skip the cookies and send me $500".

Each registrar has their own policies, but almost all ICANN accredited registrars use some sort of Redemption Grace Period system.

Things will really get interesting next month as the new Expired Domain Deletion Policy goes into effect. This will help small domain owners. :)
