Fuck off dipshit.....during the 20 years before Wanny took over the team the dolphins had 19 winning seasons and made the playoffs 18 times.

Dan Marino holds every passing record in the NFL of any consequence
The fact that the Fins had so many winning seasons with such mediocre teams is a testament to how great Marino was.

I suppose next you're going to tell me that Archie Manning and Fran Tarkenton weren't great quarterbacks either?

Snake Doctor 11-09-2004 10:13 AM

I'll say that I'm very glad Wanny is heading out the door.
This season is already down the tubes and he's still starting Fiedler at quarterback.

The Fins are due for a major rebuilding over the next couple of years.....and they need to play all their young guys the rest of this season to give them experience and to evaluate the talent they have so they can make good decisions this offseason.

:2 cents:

ibbunk 11-09-2004 10:20 AM

About fucking time!

kristin 11-09-2004 10:23 AM

I figured he would ... he was going to get canned later in week anyways. If you can't beat the 0-17 Cardinals (road record), then your team just shouldn't be allowed on the field.

LA Mike 11-09-2004 10:26 AM

na na na na

hey hey hey
goodbye

FINALLY the dipshit is gone!!!!

I still think we dont have to do some huge rebuild. We have a great D... And on offence we have some great wide outs with Chambers, McMichael, Booker, and Boston. All we need is an O lineman or two, a QB, and a RB.

As it stands now we have the very first pick in the draft where we can get a top RB or QB. I think you have to trade one of our Pro Bowl corners (Madison or Surtain) to get some more players. We have two other stud corners that can step in with the Rookie Will Poole and Reggie Howard.

We also have the right to Ricky and we can trade him to Oakland for their 1st round pick.

I think we could have a really good team by next year or the year after but it really comes down to who the coach is.

Good points Mike....however the defense is old, and we're going to run into cap problems with some of their contracts in '06 or '07.
Trading Madison would help alleviate some of that, but you still have Surtain, Taylor, and Thomas with huge cap numbers.....and Thomas and Taylor are unfortunately at the point in their careers where their play will deteriorate.

I agree with alot of what you said though....by the end of the year we'll know if Feeley is the man for next season....if not we have to look elsewhere.
Unfortunately it takes rookie quarterbacks 2-3 years to really be able to play well in this league.

Edgerrin James already said he wants to come to Miami....we sign him plus and O lineman or two....plus the high draft picks plus whatever we get for trading away some of our defense, and we'll be back in the playoffs in 07.

I don't think getting a good coach is a problem at all.....Huizenga is such a hands off owner and almost never says no to signing bonuses for free agents that any coach would want to be in Miami.

They'd be lucky to get a thank you letter from oakland.. everyone knows the motherfucker just wants to play for one year to pay off his bills and have enough left over to buy weed for the next 10 years then he retires again.. The raiders *might*give up a 6th for him.. thats about it.

yep yep, I agree with wha you say too. I just cant see letting surtain, thomas, or Taylor going. But they are getting late in their careers. And I think one of the biggest team problems is the owner. he doesnt know jack about football.

I'm hoping that the colts don't do well so James will come over. I would gladely take him but I would also take a younger Onterio Smith or Mewelde Moore from Minnisota in a trade.

What is the chances of getting a Rothlesburger in the draft? hehehe not to many Rookie QB's come in and can lead a team like that. You QB is your leader and thats the problem we have had with Fiedler.. Look at him. How can he demand respect looking like that... lol

yes it is his fault, i have been a huge dolphins fan ever since i was born. Have watch every game on tv for the past 10 years. I can honelsty say that he has done nothing to improve that team. All the dolphins good players were brought in by jimmy johnson. He is a great person just a horrible coach. He fucked up in chicago with the bears, and each year he has coached the dolphins they start out great the first half of the season then everything goes to shit in the second half of the season. This is a result of bad coaching. 2 years ago they had 7 probowlers on their team and didnt make the playoffs. All that tallent was brought in with jimmy and wanstat has squandered it.

Let's just hope that we don't get Spurrier as a replacement. That's the ONLY thing that would piss me off worse than Wannstedt staying --

The Dolphins did not make the playoffs 18 times with Dan Marino, get your fucking facts straight dip shit. The Dolphins had a great legacy way before he was even in college.

Dan Marino also does not hold every major passing record there is, John Elway holds quite a few of them. Not to mention he has actually won Superbowls.

I didn't say they went 18 times with Marino dipshit.....I said they went 18 times in the 20 years before Wanny got there.
Check YOUR facts.

When Elway did win the super bowl it was Terrel Davis's team......Marino NEVER had a good running back to keep the defense honest.....never.

If the measure of great quarterbacks is only super bowl wins then Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback than Peyton Manning.

Get real.

Nah, they'll get a first for Ricky.

The "real" reason Ricky retired was he wanted a new contract (he told Wanny he'd come back for a new contract) AND the dolphins got too young too quick on the O line and he knew he'd be taking a beating this year.

We'll get a first for him and Oakland will give him a new contract....for a 6th we'd just let Ricky rot on the sidelines....no way the Fins would take a PR hit like that.

I agree.
Rothlesburger has a great team around him right now....much different from the team David Carr started with.

BigWilly made a good point earlier. We can trade a defensive star or a high draft pick for Drew Brees...that would be a great move IMO.
The Chargers have too much money tied up in Rivers to keep Brees, regardless of how well he's doing.

LA Mike 11-09-2004 03:35 PM

Lenny2... yes yes and yes... i'm in agreeance with all that. :)

So your point is that you were arguing that Dan Mario is a good quarterback because the Dolphins went to the playoffs 18 times (most of which did not even include Marino) before Wanstedt got there?

What are you 12?

The measure of a good QB is if they can make a team win. Dan Marino did not win very much despite the fact that he got to play for two of the greatest coaches in the history of football.

Say what you want about Elway, he has more wins than any other QB in history and I bet Danny boy wishes he had half the career Elway did.
