Who here has seen the light?

The Northern Lights, that is.

I am in Kentucky, and I never dreamed we'd see them way the hell down here..... but man, at like midnight last night my husband came back in from his friends house, made me get shoes and a coat on and took me out, saying I was about to have my mind blown. And sure enough..... I had always heard about them but had never seen them.... what a beautiful sight.

I tried to take some pics, but I suck with a camera so I don't think they came out.... dammit!! But it was so damn pretty. :thumbsup

Here you go, babe.
Northern Lights it was so damn cool looking. The ones here weren't THAT bright, but very bright still. Where I live, outside the city limits, we have really dark skies at night, so you can see things like this. Unlike in the city where you can't even see stars half the time. This was so pronounced........ I am gonna go and see if the pics I took came out, but I highly doubt they did. I am not a good picture maker. lol

I used to see the northern lights all the time when my family owned a hunting and fishing lodge up in northern Ontario... they certainly are something to see.

Nah I'm a good family man... Just decided to get out of the hustle and bustle of the Boston Area and go for a little country living again. They have low crime, Great schools, and Houses that don't cost $500,000 for a 2 bedroom things are crazy up here...

Oh boy, don't I know it.... it's getting insane. I wanted to live in a big city for a long time, til I had kids. We moved right outside Houston for a couple of months in 97 and I tell ya, I was so ready to come home to my little pissy ass town with a few hundred people. Yikes!! We are very family oriented too, so maybe we'll have to all get together sometime when you get all settled in. :winkwink:

MaskedMan, it was so cool... I may have seen it before, just didn't know what it was..... but I did this time, and it was so awesome. My favorite thing about cities is at night when all the lights are on, and it was like someone brought it to me... :winkwink:

Fellow Kentucky Girl here also, Husband from ND and grew up seeing the Northern Lights. He talks about them all the time and has taken me up there to see them for myself, I must say they are something. I was lucky enough to see them in full color one night and not just the normal white. :thumbsup
