How many of you take Xanax, Prozac etc?

I've seen many webmasters saying they can't live without it....

Can you really take that shit regularly without getting adicted or any side effects?

gangbangjoe 11-08-2004 07:41 AM

i would change my lifestyle totally if i needed xanax to sleep :helpme

media 11-08-2004 07:43 AM

I was given a prescription for xanax from my doctor to help with hangovers. Works great!:)

HAPPYPEEKERS 11-08-2004 08:19 AM

Prozac is an amazing drug. It makes you very very happy .. I have taken it for years and love it.
Xanax just takes the edge off when you take Prozac. It makes you a little jittery ( the prozac )
People that have never taken prozac have talked down about it for years but it is really a very very good anti depressent.
I love it.. I love you... I Love Everything lolol :1orglaugh

IRapedYourFather 11-08-2004 08:20 AM

Not me

The only drugs I am addicted to are GoFuckYourself.com, DoYouLookGood.com, OutaouaisWeb.com, LOVE, YOGA !

AnaNicole 11-08-2004 02:14 PM

Yeah lexapro is a derivitive of prozac and supposedly has ALOT less sexual side effects than prozac

It's not like you can buy these medications over the counter, they have been prescribed and usage is controlled by the GP or psychiatrist. These people have been diagnosed with depression. Such a diagnosis is sometimes dubious though as well as the effect of antidepressants in mild to moderate depression.

I think I would be worried that these drugs would impair intellect.

I took Prozac once for migraines, but it made me depressed. Apparently that happens to a small percentage of people taking it for non-depression reasons.

I garnered a lot of respect for those who are clinically depressed during those couple of days though. It was nothing but pure hell. I can't imagine living with that day after day and if something helps them, then that's GREAT!! :)

of course I have, but it's RIDICULOUS to take such medication (antidepressants) without intervention of a doctor. If you're doing such shit you're a true idiot. You know, there's a reason for those medicines not being available over-the-counter.

smokingdawn 11-08-2004 04:59 PM

If I needed any of those I would change my career path right away

BitterPen 11-08-2004 05:02 PM

I was prescribed Lexapro after being diagnosed with anxiety issues. Many of the "depression" drugs are used for lots of different things. Depression, anxiety, panic, sleep disorders, etc... I know Lexapro has helped me. :thumbsup

Raven 11-08-2004 05:04 PM

Prozac and Paxil and all of their derivatives and permutations were never meant to be anything more than a bandaid.

All of the drugs mentioned are either habit forming or addictive.

Ever seen someone come off of long term valium use? It's not a pretty sight.

bluff 11-08-2004 05:06 PM

Polish, these meds are not 'happy pills' - I mean, it's not like you take a pill and "hey, my depression is over". Adequate treatment takes months.

Nah, I was reading Fukuyama today and he was writing about such pills....

I think some of them are "happy pills" indeed - I mean you take it and in like 1 hour you are happy.

But I really don't know shit about it...my mother takes them always, but i never touched them yet.

Benzodiazepines (xanax, valium, ativan, klonipin, etc) are generally anti-anxiety. There isn't much wrong with taking one occasionally if you are stressed as long as you don't drink or make a habit of it.

antidepressants don't work in an hour, takes at least 2 weeks

so IMO they most work fast...I mean, I am stressed, I take it and in 1-2 hours, I feel ok again

Not many I'd wager. I wish anyone who took these things or even thought about taking them would educate themselves on the effects first. :2 cents:

I know that'll never happen, but its a hope I'll cling to.

Morgan 11-08-2004 05:54 PM

I take the marijuana for everything that ails.

Doctor Dre 11-08-2004 05:55 PM

Since Juicy does, a lot of sheeps have tried it

lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam (xanax), midazolam (dormicum), basically most meds that end with -am

sheep, not sheeps :winkwink:

bluff 11-08-2004 05:59 PM

btw midazolam is more of a hypnotic than an anxiolytic. Bad example.

If not years.

But, insurance companies don't want to pay for 'talk' therapy.

It's ever so much easier to prescribe a bandaid...and, cheaper, too.

So, this country happily takes these 'magic bullets', thinking life is wonderful, until the root cause kicks them in the ass.
