Legit Mailers: How many complaints until your ISP shuts you down?

How many complaints can a legit mailer (one that does NOT send through proxies) normally get until his ISP shuts him down?

Not really a question that can be answered for any GOOD legit mailer as they will have a very good relationship with their provider and a true understanding. Remember we're talking about 'legit' mailing here. Start fucking around and it's a whole different ball game.

Untrue. We've been mailing without proxies for over a year now.

As far as the number of complants go. It all depends on the isp and the severity of the complaints. Once spamhaus notices you the isp tends to disconnect your circuit.

Isn't that what the guy was just sentenced to 9 years for?
The indictment also alleged that the sender falsified transmission or routing information to prevent recipients from knowing who had sent the messages and how to contact the sender.

This falsified information is what makes such spam a crime in Virginia, and the volume of e-mails sent during the period is what elevated the charge to a felony, according to the statement.

I try and stay below 20 per day. All the isp's have different limits some won't allow more then 5 others could careless. Some freak out when your blackholed others could careless. its all hit and miss.

exactly why mail from home when servers are as cheap as they are now? even you your mailing opt ins it's not worth the risk of getting your personal ISP account shut down. I dunno about where you live but there is only 2 or 3 High Speed ISP's around here that are worth a shit..

IRapedYourFather 11-08-2004 08:37 AM
