bah genre

Well.. it depends on that he is willing to pay me or I have to pay :)

skillfull 11-07-2004 09:11 PM

If you *have* to pay, then why wouldn't you have asked such a serious question before?

You: "Will this be CAD, USD...? What?"
Him: "That will be Euro's please, Sir"

....

....

cause usually, when the seller dont talk about it, its USD

lets say someone sell something on GFY
he dont tell 500 USD
he just tell 500

dont coming back after and tell its 500 euros ;)

USD still the international business currency

Never.
Even if I buy something on Ebay and it states the currency ON THE SELLERS PAGE, I still confirm with them before I bid.

Safe than sorry, huh?

If eBay states it, I think you are pretty good to go.

They stated the terms when the auction was started.

That's because GFY is based in the US, everyone assumes $US.

If I was having business dealings with someone in Europe, I would actually assume Euro's ....

It's true, but sometimes a bit hazy...sometimes they do all the settings wrong/right and when they type in their text it doesn't match...etc.

I just like to be safe.

Understandable... I'd try to fix that.

So offer him 500 CAD take it or leave it.

baddog 11-07-2004 11:24 PM

I think it is a given when I do deals with people that we are talking USD. I have offered to pay in CDN, but they always decline.

Xenophage 11-07-2004 11:27 PM

depends on the intetn of the change in currencey

if he did it just to fuck you then blow them off if it was a misunderstanding then tell them to meet you halfway since you were dealing and they were not clear it was assumed it was in $$ not euro

he lowered his price a little
but not enough for me, i can have better for the price he is asking for right now, but that now like a small difference, but fact is if i cant trust someone on something like currency, i dont think i cant trust him for a 2 months contract

serious 11-07-2004 11:36 PM

If the guy doesn't live in europe and you never discuss currency then I see no reason why he can come back and say oh i meant euros not usd.

Otherwise it could have been a misunderstanding and something that should have been discussed obviously.
