Ok, I backed up my damn icq database 10 ways from Sunday and still I can't make the new install take the damn thing. I made a copy of the 2000b folder as I always do, or have for awhile now, KIMMY... LOL

But this time it won't take it at all, when I do it gives me all sorts of stupid errors............

So once again........... if I am on your icq list and you still wanna be on mine, page me......... good grief, the next time I decide to format my pc will be when this son of a bitch is in flames.

Did you delete the new ICQ folders and just copy the old ones in or did you use the backup feature? We just copy the whole folder setup as a backup and replace it if needed. It has to accept it that way http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

everytime I need to reinstall my ICQ, I backup these files from ICQ

youricq#.dat (example 3333333.dat)
youricq#.idx (example 3333333.idx)
youricq#tmp.dat (example 3333333tmp.dat)
youricq#tmp.idx (example 3333333tmp.idx)

and after instaling ICQ I copy them back.
I have icq2000b

I just save the DB directory!!! works every single time...

I DID save the backup directory, I tried it both ways, copying it over the old one deleting the new one and putting the old one there.. all of it, it gives me errors and won't let me start icq with it in there. I have 3 backups of it in various places and it won't take any of them.

I am running the same version of ICQ but not the same OS, I went form ME to Win2k.

I tried it all.
