Canadian customs and felonies
I want to travel to canada with a friend who has a marijuana felony from 10 years ago...will they deny him entrance if flying into a big airport? I know it is a law now because of 9/11 but do they actually look up everyone's record when you get there?

I wouldn't worry if its weed, canada doesn't aknowledge that as an offense. :stoned

Everything i am finding with google is saying it's a no-no

definitely ask a Canadian attorney beforehand. |

Where have you been ?? If its a felony conviction , its up to the border guards. Remember they dont have access to american criminal records , so just dont say anything and if they ask if you have a felony say nope. If you do that , i would say you have a 50/50 chance , higher if your white. |

I would be more worried about going BACK to the USA ... :)

However - I doubt he will be stopped from entry. A growing majority of Canadians want to LEGALIZE pot. It's the fucking USA dollars that have pressured us not to. IMO PS: I'm drug free. |

So they do look up your records there to make sure you dont have anything on your record?

Your freind can pre allpy for permission to enter, takes a few weeks and like 100$ I think
