Trying my hand at AVS - AVS Guru's Needed!
Ok...anyone who has more experience in this area of adult marketing than me can look over my site and lemme know what I could do better. Any replies are greatly appreciated. =)

Things are lookin alright. (other than that god awful background color), but that's just my opinion http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif I usually spread my entry tour over a couple of pages. Search engine traffic is the most vital traffic you need for an avs site. Get listed at dmoz, altavista, et al. Others will say you can do well with avs traffic coming from tgp or free sites, but I would gladly take 100 se hits over 1000 tgp hits any day. Also, I am not familiar with Freenet pass, but in your sales pitch you might mention that a pass to your site also gives them access to all of Freenet's sites. Good luck with it.

You could also stretch your entry, by making the thumbs on your main page clickable to go forward to a full page pic (semi-nude) of that particular model, and then click forward from that page to the sign up page. Is that clear?

Well, I'm hardly a guru... in fact, I don't know anything.
Is a tour really necessary for AVS? I always figured the signup schpiel is the best pitch you can give and just crank 'em out with the signup script right on the front page just like yours up there with a preview pic about the same size as you're using on that page. I submit gallerys to TGPs to promote them which have at least 20 pics on them already, so I kinda figured that served as the preview. ??? If this is wrong, somebody speak up now so I can go and make some damn preview pages for all these sites. I agree on the suckness of the background color. Looks like cat puke. Other than that, it's not much different than what I make every day. |
I think that would work for TGP traffic...I just thought preview pages were the way to use LL and SE traffic.

Amp, I would agree if I were drawing all my traffic from tgp, but from se, I would definately run a small tour.

Okay.... whew! You had me lookin' at alot of new work there... I do submit to the SEs, but have never been listed anywhere and can't sit back for 10 months waiting to see if I will... so, the next best bet for traffic is either hoping that you can upsell through the AVS listings themselves, (and those people already have passwords so preview is just a waste of their time) or bend over for the TGPs and pray for conversion.
I will admit, I could probably spice up my sales pitch on my signup pages though. I have a hard time writing that stuff. |

Get the fnp link code out of the avs script and also make a text link to the join form. Ampute A good tour also makes users that already have a pass login instead of going away. Good point deluxe. I use ProAdult and Cyberage, and they try to make sure the sites are at least not total garbage, but of course there are still quite a few bad ones... you're right.
Well... damn. I think I'll make a few with previews and see how it goes. If it works out better, I know what I gotta do. Shouldn't be too hard to slip an extra page in between. |
Amp, seeing that you're using Cyberage as well, make sure you have entered good keywords in your site description in your site profile, if you get a good listing in their se, it's downright spooky what you can pick up on their middle page click thru.

Yeah, I have a pretty good description and set of keywords in there, plus a nice clear good size pic for their Preview Pic feature (a must do)... but I took out the Middle Page Participation. (too aggravating)

I don't understand, who is aggravated?, if it's the surfer, they already have a pass, why not make a buck off them?

Well, I guess it was aggravating for me mostly... (I know... you don't have to say it), but I also figured the middle page only pays... .07 cents? I can't remember exactly... but thought better to not take a chance on losing them to the middle page for .07 cents after I've gotten them this far when I can get them straight in for a chance at an upsell to one of my sponsors for $30 -$50 instead.
I'm still new to this too, so if you think this is faulty reasoning... I'm open to modification. |
I think what I'm trying to get at is, with Cyberage, the middle page is theirs. So, there's no chance of getting anything more than pennies from it, plus there's a chance I will lose my surfer altogether.
With ProAdult, they allow you to use one FPA which is MY sponsor... so I use my FPA on their system, but nothing in between for Cyberage. I can't say it's right... but it seemed reasonable to me. |
Amp, that middle page is basically aimed at Cyberage participants, they've seen it a thousand times and click on thru, I don't think very many ever take them up on it, could be wrong, but I don't think so, Avs clients are a different breed from free site surfers. You might as well collect the 7 cents. As I said before, a good listing in their se will give you amazing results from this.

Hmmmm.... something else to experiment with tomorrow. I'll try a few... see if the conversions change one direction or another.
