I think your wrong, the first time i went to the stile project was a few days ago and that was becasue of a post here. It didnt look that good to me so i left. When i got these pics atleast a few months back they were just the same as they are now. I have not edited them in anyway.

No, everyone makes mistakes. It's only human. But guys that try to pull a bullshit artist job on people by claiming ownership to something they know full well isn't really theirs... bothers me. No matter what the intentions.

I agree with what Gary said about not having a problem posting pics or stories or whatever... hell, if I come across something funny, I'll post it up too... but without alteration and due credit where it belongs. It's brutally obvious that those pics have had their owners urls & copyrights blacked out and edited. The one of the dick tug o' war looks like it's been edited at least twice. "There's nothing there in MY pic"... dude, give me some fuckin' credit here. First off, it's not YOUR pic, and any kid with a copy of PSP and 15 minutes of experience can easily see it's been erased, and there is a blackout in the corner... (altered twice) so I may have been wrong. Maybe YOU didn't steal them. And if you didn't, then I sincerely apologize for saying that you did. But someone did... and maybe they ended up in your email one day... only you know for sure. But just because you've had them "for so long" does NOT give you any reason to "consider them yours", and you DID claim them as yours... which may as well be stealing them in the first place. hon, what I'm trying to point out is that at least half of those images are NOT copyrighted by stile. Hey, I would even dare to say none of them are! If you don't beleive me, go to his site and ask him yourself; as easy as that.

so, what if he removes the URL? the url is there not to warn others "this image is mine", but because stile knows (so do any webmaster of a humor site) people will save the images and email them to family and friends. The URL is to show people where the picture came from, so they'll type the url and visit the website.. it's a way to increase traffic. The more those images jump from one email to the other, the more free advertisement he gets.

Hmmm comes down to arguing the finer points, then ANY image marked with a copyright OTHER than the legal image owner will have just cause to prosecute in civil court the owner of the illegal copyright, UNLESS said secondary licensed user can produce a signed and legally witnessed document...

Shorter terms... you canNOT snag a pic, brand it with your own copyright and reuse it unless the original owner agrees to it. (In order to fall under the " Should you make any changes to any of the Materials you will be violating Stile Project or Stile Project Inc.'s copyright. " that you are citing) It would be in DIRECT copyright violationto use someone elses content, image or other materials to promote your own site. This does not mean the site must be charging for access to be illegal. It would be considered a theft of resources among other charges to promote MY site with YOUR pictures by adding a URL or lmao My own copyright to some one elses things...

So someone defacing a pic with an illegal copyright and url added to said pic, isn't breaking any 'special' rules. Here's all I'm trying to get at gaby...

Stile's got a very clear and professional TOS posted on his site stating that he has LICENSE to use those pics. Just like any other run of the mill porn site licensing their content. Not because he has or has not some url stamped on them. As was said, a url stamped on them does not indicate ownership. Gemini is correct in that if you have LICENSE to distribute material, you can pretty much stamp whatever you want on them in whichever way you think best to promote. I modify my licensed pics all the time. That's why I paid for them. I have no reason to believe that stile doesn't have that license. He's not in question. So I'm not arguing whether or not those are Stile's pics. I don't care whose pics they are.

But, when you see pics that have unquestionably been altered and then posted up ANYWHERE and with reasonable judgement and a smidgin' of common sense to tell yourself that the guy does NOT have said license to use or CLAIM OWNERSHIP to those pics, then THAT is content stealing. Doesn't matter if the content is funny, or disgusting, or hot, or if they've been sitting on your hard drive for two months or whatever. No license + redistribution = theft. Whether it's Hustler's pics or anyone else's.

I ALSO said that I don't know if he modified the pics or not and that if he was not responsible, I apologize for my statements. He said he did not make the modifications insinuating that he got them through email or some other source. But the following comment from Instant stating "I've had them for so long I just considered them mine" pretty much sums it all right back up to where we started. If I keep your Walkman for three months does that make it mine?

There are also the medical pics of all those nasty skin diseases and people with birth defects, not to mention the deformed babies and so on that he sure found posted other websites. And I'll say it again.. that I'm not defending zipe, saying he's got all the right to post the images. All I said was that I was quite sure Stile doesn't have the License for those pics.

Noone knows where those pics come from, you see them practically in any adult humor site.

I'd just like to add that I initially took the thread to be nothing more than a posting of pics for a laugh. I enjoy twisted humor more than alot of people. But then noticed the blackouts... (again, not conclusive of anything, but rather indicitive), then noticed the comment about making it a "weekly thing", to me insinuating a website revolving around it... (maybe this was wrong) then the post back to Lane saying "you don't like my pics", again, to me, insinuating ownership... (maybe this was wrong too) then recognizing those pics from stile's site and a few other sites as well... and here we are.

Of course I can't say for sure that they came from stile's site or not. I've seen them in more than one place before too. Doesn't matter. Whether stile has license or not is not my concern. I'm not going to his site or any other looking for trouble. The difference here is that Instant brought that stuff here... to where you and I and the rest of us hang while working... He brought it here. And he proclaimed it as his own. And that is the only reason that any of this came up at all. If he'd posted them on a website, I probably never would have seen them, let alone cared. Had he posted them up without declaration of ownership, I could have laughed at them too.
