Fuck, today I had to buy glasses :-(

I noticed especially in traffic and in night traffic, that I could not see the road signs that well...

After a while I started to think, hmm I might need glasses. Today I did an eye check. Jeez, that I still can see without glasses!

one eye is -0.5 and the other one is -1.75!

All other "things" are okay. I got some test glasses, jeez, I had no idea what you can see from far away.

I now bought some Converse frame, first tried Diesel frame, but that looked strange on my egg head:) Armani was also good and nice, but the converse felt better.

Have to wait 2 weeks before it's ready, hope I will survive this :D

You never considered lenses? I know lenses are a bitch but you don't have to wear glasses :glugglug

My eyes are still fine, but if I ever need something I think I will opt for glasses as well.

Sosa 11-05-2004 01:26 PM

Well I first have to use the glasses only for the car. SO then lenses won't make sense. Besides that, first my eyes have to get used to the "normal" view, before they can advice me some good lenses. Besides that they are a bitch(I think)

True, it's not that bad. Especially since my uhmm, well I still can focus right. But it was still a huge difference between glasses and no glasses. I was really amazed. They were as well, since they expected me to have headaches all day :)(which I don't have)

I got -1

I don't wear them most of the time but during lections, if I'm sitting far, I can't see shit from the board

justsexxx 11-05-2004 01:32 PM

BTW I noticed many insurances don't pay for glasses. Good thing is, I can tell that I need them for work, so I still can declare them. But still....

I just got mine today, I haven't worn them for a year because my lenses got too scratched and I can see ok without them. They sure make a big difference from far away though. I'm -1.25 and -1.50

Johny Traffic 11-05-2004 02:59 PM

Ill put you on my site Cum On My Glasses

Bigwilly 11-05-2004 03:46 PM

this what you do, glasses's will cost you at least a few grand througout your life (eye exams, when you lose your glasses, perscription sun glasses, ect). Invest $1500 on yourself now and get lazer syrgery for your eyes. I thank god every day that i did, i hated the hassle of wearing glasses and contacts. Now i see 20-20 and im sure it will pay for itself in 10 years. Not to mention the saved time and effort.

Bigwilly 11-05-2004 03:47 PM

sorry for the double post but i forgot to mention that my insurance paid for lazer eye surgery as well.

Doctor Dre 11-05-2004 03:53 PM

It's not too bad ... I'm at like -3.50 on one eye and -3.25 on the other one

What did you do to improve it?

I'm like -1.5 and I am always complaining about my eyesight.

easy01 11-05-2004 04:55 PM

Just get soft lenses and forget this problem,
Trust me on this, never have a single problem with lenses,
fuck the stupid glasses :thumbsup

axelcat 11-05-2004 05:00 PM

First of all such surgery cost 4000 euro here. And not paid by insurance. But I don't care about that(just a lil) but when the result would be great for 99,99999% I would have done it.

However, I know 3 persons who did it. 2 of them are blind on one eye now. And one is very happy.

And no it was not some shady company for those 2 people. Actually 2 of them(good+bad) were from same hospital, and other bad one was in some private hospital.

I also did some reading, and I noticed the percent of "good" results is around 97% here.

Well, and to be honest, I don't wanna risk of being that 3% for using glasses. I prefer some glasses for looking "far away" above the 3% of having a worse view then before.

I've been wearing glasses for about 4 years now, and they have been good to me........

I hate lenses, and I dont see the need to get surgery.
And I noticed a lot of girls find glasses sexy :Graucho

I was debating that as well, but the fact remains that it is still a fairly new technology, so the chance of failure is at an uncomfortable level.
Your eyes are very important. If something went wrong and I was blinded, I would probably off myself.
It's too iffy still.

Magg 11-05-2004 05:31 PM

im like -2.50 in my left eye, lol

Yeah indeed, personally I won't take the 3% risk.
Hopefully it will get better within time, so I might do it over a few years
