PHOTOGRAPHERS.. how do you attract new talent?
 

A few buddies and myself are going to start shooting softcore content.. we bought all the equipment (with the exception of lighting, that's next on the list :winkwink: ).

How do you go about recruiting new models? I have an account at OneModelPlace.com but I'm talking about locally.. I live in a smaller city here in Minnesota (Duluth) so it's not like I'm in a metropolis of models like L.A. or NYC. What are your methods?

Newspapers, word of mouth.. Offering a referral fee to people who find you models who actually shoot is good too.. But tell me please that you got a lawyer first, and had your model release legally drafted, and you're fully aware of your obligations as custodian of records for the content you shoot? :P

We did indeed. The model release and 18+ documents have been drafted, and as far as custodian of records goes I left that obligation to my partner :Graucho

Good man... I would suggest if you have any colleges local to you perhaps advertise in their papers, or in the rags you see that they have on campus.. College girls always need money.

Strip clubs... we did that a couple times... and MOney Lots of it... in the states they want money

Lucky for me I live on campus :Graucho What do you say in ad's -- looking for adult/nude models? Or just looking for models? The paper here is a bit strict as it's a private (and more importantly Catholic) school.

Oh and one other important question. I know it varies depending on the model and such, but what are your base pay rates? A buddy in the business said he pays upwards of $400 for hardcore shoots that last about 3 hours. I'll only be shooting softcore lasting about 2-3 hours.

Strippers usually make bad models and for newbie shooters they would be the worse.

Already earning money, up late a t night, think most guys are pervs, use to earning money for doing little, and usually too old.

Depends on l\your locale, but think about a minimum of $50 an hour, probably would be closer to $75.

for softcore models I like to pay $300 per session .. a session lasts 3-4 hours .. has 3 costum changes .. and one video record for 30 min ...

but that's me, i'm jnown for treating models well, that's how I get my referrals .. models regularly call me up to go party with them and they're freinds .. models also book me VIPs in Clubs when I want to go out and find new girls or just get laid .. LOL

Basicly what I'm trying to say is that no matter where you start or how often you shoot, the most important part of being a shooter in this bussiness is PR .. your relationship with models .. treat them with the respect they diserve and they will reward you back with the same respect.
