Shaving - Little Red Spots

Curiosity has finally go the better of me and I thought I would ask the experts. :winkwink:

My g/f has been shaving below for quite a while now and it is really smooth but in some light you can see little read spots, mainly near the top (above). I think most models have this a little but some are perfectly spotless. I guess the easy way to do this is just use a little foundation or tanning lotion or even photoshop, but is there a trick to this? To get this naturally?

what a question! lol

Actually there are a couple different things she can do.

First off, the reason she gets those red bumbp is probably do to thick hair. My guess is she's a brunette.

Tell her to soak her body in warm water before shaving. This will open up her pores. Also, there is this shaving gel called "Coochie" that works really well. It's made specifically for that area and wont dry out her skin either. If you can't get your hand on that stuff dont worry. She can use regular shaving cream. Just don't use regular soap...

After she shaves, tell her to apply either balmex or desitin (diaper rash creames). Don't wipe it off. Leave it on overnight and the red bumps will be gone :)

in the UK you used to be able to get a cream you put on the day after shaving the bikini line that stopped ingrown hairs, etc but I haven't been able to find it for the past year.

I don't think they are ingrown hairs are they? I think it is just the irritation from the shaving that causes it. Maybe the roots get pulled while the razor cuts the hairs, I'm not sure. Its isn't super bad, and it isn't always noticable, only in some light. I just thought there might be some trick to totally prevent it.

She is a brunette and she does have thick hair, she uses a venus shaver I think, it has a lubricating block around it that disolves as you use it. Her legs are perfectly smooth, just wondering why it happens there?

It happens becaue the hairs there are much more course then on your legs.

Tell her to always use a shaving gel and to apply diaper rash ointment to the entire area after she towels off. She will notice a difference the next day :)

Venus are the best razors for that type of shaving. They get much closer than anything else I have tired.

I never thought of the diaper rash stuff but I do usually but an application of anti-bacterial cream over the area afterwards and that has worked pretty well.

deoderant helps curb the problem.. just regular old underarm deoderant applied after she shaves. Sometimes it helps to use a hair removal cream and then just shave the remainder off or they even make some stuff for black men to use on their faces that's specifically for razor bumps. I guess it's because the hair on their faces is really coarse as well. Never tried it but in theory it should work
