Church VS State FACT

The FEDERAL COURT SHOULD NOT FUCKING Touch Gay Marrage.

That is a STATE Issue.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-05-2004 01:38 AM

I agree.

And let every state in the Union vote it down. The activist gays had a lot to do with the Republican victory. I feel sorry for gays who are discriminated against but the bottom line is that the minute they started their IN YOUR FACE bullshit in Massachusetts and San Francisco, the election was over.
The undeniable reality is that most people find gay sex totally REPULSIVE - They'd rather see Americans being beheaded than have to look at a couple of guys French-kissing each other on the steps of the courthouse.
By trying to shove their lifestyles down everyone's throat, they set themselves back 20 years. They won't even be able to get any sort of civil unions now. Smart move.

They have spoken and they shall get their wish and more...

Yeah, that was pretty disgusting when partners of 30 years rushed to get that piece of paper once they got a chance with the silly notions of finally gaining legal protections.

I completely agree with you but look what happened. If they had waited to make their move until AFTER a Democrat was in the White House, they might have had a chance. Now they have none.

Interesting... I thought we were a more open society. I'm not gay and gays don't bother me. Shit, it's hard enough just trying to live and finding someone to love. I thought they (gays) were becomming more mainstream. With all the recent "gay culture" on tv and other media outlets. Ellen, Will & Grace, Queer Eye and other such programming made me feel were as a country was starting to accept others for who they are... I never thought I had a minority view point.

Time to wake up people! I don't think we're headed in the right direction.

Now, my brain hurts.. to deep this early :winkwink:

Nope. That is just an illusion. For the economy and foreign relations to not matter and for a president to be chosen primarily on moral issues proves it.

Nobody knew when there would ever be another Democrat president and once the ruling was made you can't blame people for flocking to the courthouses. To suggest that they cost Kerry the election and should have had that forsight at the times of the San Fran and Mass decisions is just silly and has the potential to dangerously add to animosities.

In November 2000, 40 percent of Alabamans voted to keep the ban on interracial marriage.

Gays will never be legally allowed to marry in the US no matter who is in office. This nation is run by mainly traditionalist people. Whether they are Democrats or Republicans it doesn't matter. The people of the US are and always will (for a while at least) carry their traditionalist values which includes Male/Female weddings. Gay marriage will not be legal for at least 20 years or more if ever :2 cents:

Basic_man 11-05-2004 06:24 AM

I agree. And George Bush is a fucker, who agree?

That is correct...
and this election amid all of the anti-gay marriage bills on state ballots, South Dakta felt a need to take that one step further and voted that they would refuse to recognize any types of legal civil unions. Even the president suggests civil unions should be the olive branch to keep the word marriage strictly man/woman.

Dawgy 11-05-2004 06:36 AM

the only reason gay marriage was on the ballot was because bush knew he wouldnt win without all those uptight religious conservatives. even if san francisco and massachusetts hadnt done what they did, it would still have been on the ballot because its how bush got people to vote for him when they otherwise wouldnt.

blaming gay people for bush winning is stupid. blame slimy politics instead. bush is fucking with peoples lives and rights, simply to draw attention away from his fuckup in iraq and to get reelected. but then again, thats how this "great country" works.

if u blame gay people for bush, u may as well start going to jerry fallwell's church, since he blames gaypeople for 9/11.

for more of the radical people it's the fact of gays marrying. nevermind that marriage nowadays is a government institution. they see two guys in a church, their church, and a pastor.

for others it's the word

more blacks voted to give rights to gays to marry. that should tell you something.

my bf's parents live in the South, they voted for Bush, they also flipped when his brother said he was engaged to a black woman even though she was part black part latin. The south is so backwards it shouldn't be surprising

can't find the link it was in Yahoo news right around early Nov 3 and I think it was referring to the state of Georgia

If people really were worried about the so called "sanctity" of marriage, they would go after the millions of people who live together, have kids, buy property, etc.etc. without getting married. They're the REAL threat to the institution of marriage, not the gays.
The whole idea of marriage beng some "Sacred" thing is ridiculous anyway. Half end in divorce and half of married couples are cheating on their spouses.
You can get married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator while going through a drive-thru chapel. How sacred is that ?
But seeing 2 guys with beards French-kissing and having to look at Rosie O'Donnell with her bull dyke girlfriend on the evening news made a lot of people sick and gave them an excuse to vote for the "Defense of Marriage".

I agree with everything you said! One of my best friends is republican yet, he's got a kid out of wedlock, cheats on his on/off relationship with his 7yr girl, goes to strip clubs and wants to get in this biz. What a hypocrite he is!
