I, for one, suggest abstaining from dating in or out of the industry and propose we all just have meaningless, but hot and sweaty, sex.

I wouldn't mind, I would actually like to date a girl within the industry but would have a preference to avoid dating women who I work with on a regular basis (well, either that or re-assign me a different account manager for those companies, hehe).

For some reason I can't really associate with girls who aren't in this business and I have much more in common with industry women so its a better fit usually. My opinion at least...

One thing I have to say though is the nice thing about inside is the fact that people normally instantly have things in common.

LOL Jman. Nahhh this isn't really me asking for advice or hinting anything. I am just asking because the conversation I had was a fun one and I'm sure everyone has opinions.

I see a couple upsides to it. 1 is people are going to be a lot more open to things you do/have done in life. 2 you probably have a lot more in common personality wise right away.

Downsides are... rumour mills, breakups, conflicts of interest...

Believe me Brad.... those downsides can go WAY WAY down. There are open minded people that are not in the industry. Find and date them.

A messy personal comflict, breakup etc.... can blow up into something that hurts your BUSINESS, and that just isn't worth the risk IMHO.

Dating in the industry ... good idea if you are not looking to waste time with figuring each other out ('... oh, will he/she be bothered by ... blah-blah')

Dating co-workers ... VERY BAD! Rarely works ... usually causes static/problems in the office.

This is why we dont allow anyone to see the bang bros secretaries, you'd all drop loads in your pants and attempt to use geeky pickup lines.

And agreed, Although it IS enticing at times, the hangover
is a hard one to shake. In the event it doesn't end well
or is lopsided, boy can things get sticky.

There are too many shows and too many opportunities
for discomfort. Of course, this is a pessimistic view.
I envy those who have made it work.
