Car chases.....what are they thinking?????
 

What goes on in the mind of a driver who is being chased by cops??? What are they thinking? Havent they seen other chases? Always end up being caught....could it be the need to wanting attention? Chase going on now on news in Bellflower...

what is there to think.. They dont think of anything.. too busy going as fast as possible

I saw a bunch of them when I lived in LA. I think these guys just flat out panic and stupidly think they're nailed anywya, why not have some fun, get on TV, and feel the rush of the chase.

They only show you the videos of them being caught, what about all the footage when they don't get caught?

I'd be curious to find the actual percentage of times car chases end with an arrest.

Im sure its the MAJORITY, but I wouldnt be surprised if you have like a %25 chance.

how they REALLY catch you is with the police chopper radio'ing your position to the ground units.

my plan: fly towards LAX. the helo's won't be able to follow you through the flight path of the jets.

THEN bail out.

Ive been saying that for years. haha.. Ive gotten away from cops before just duck and hide out.. Not like they have a chopper all the time..

Sometimes when there are a lot of civilians around after a cashing a while, they might let the criminal go cause it's causing too much trouble.

did you ever think of that you only see the stuff on the news when they get caught or have 10 helicopters chasing them?

i'm sure that only happens a small fraction of the time. this girl i knows friend use to run a chop shop and steal cars. he used to outrun the cops all the time and never got caught once.

One ended here this week in the death of a mother and her 14 year old daughter.

Most of the time, the reason they can't get away is because the chopper keeps following them when the cop cars lose them. If you have lost the cars you can just drive into a huge shopping area and park underground and then walk into the shop. By the time the cars get there you will be well into the crowded area and no one will know where you went, if you just walk out somewhere else with lots of other people, step into a taxi or something, you will be gone before they can secure off the area. And the whole time, the chopper has no idea what is going on.

I saw a show called 'X Cars' about the Manchester Police Tactical Car Crime Unit on UK TV that i remember because it was the only cop chase show on TV i ever saw where the bad guys got away..

They were in a Subaru Impreza turbo being chased by an unmarked police Sierra Cosworth and they totally burnt off the Sierra, and the cops didn't even get the number because they had a coat hanging from the boot over the reg plate..

But you're right, most shows seem to only show the ones where the choppers got there, probably because they're the ones with the best footage. :2 cents:

I know lots of people that have run from the cops and got away. I can see how it would be impossible in a busy city or on the freeways like you always see on TV, but out in the country here it's done quite a bit. The only chopper they have around here is used for medical emergencies.

what these stupid fucks are thinking is, i am smarter then the other stupid fucks who get caught by the cops !!!:1orglaugh

Earlier this year during our yearly road trip to Vegas for the show we were in convoy of four cars. Outside of the Hoover Damn I had the Mach 1 Speed Racer flat out at a stead 150mph. I had left the convoy behind when I got a call on my cell phone - It was BryanY telling me there was a cop tearing after me full blast.

Went over a little hill and a curve, found a side street, turned into it, shut down the car, and prayed.

Copper went flying past. He never saw me.

Yeah that was definatly crazy. The cop ended up pulling over someone who flew by me in a grand prix.

My Grand Cherokee V8 governs out at 120MPH :( lol

i guarantee you allot of the time when people run they have a good ammount of drugs on them and are throwing them out the window, makes sense 5 years for running or 30 years for a kilo

sorry for the double post, im sure some of them make it away but i doubt your gonna see any tvprograms where the criminals escape because the cops want you to think they always catch them

because what you dont know is about 30% get away because the chase is called off for being too dangerous

never know, some poeple get away...but not by driving...by getting out and running....

If the chase endangers bystanders the cops usually break off, so I suspect you can get away pretty easily.
