I just got some SMS SPam
for a local dating site, anyone ever spammed by SMS? Must be good to get local traffic, it's annoying, but it did get me to go to the site, are there laws against this, it was pretty annoying since I pay for every incoming sms

Well I just called telus and they said well we can't really do anything against him, blah blah blah, so everyone who wants to spam telus users, go right ahead!
|
No one has any info if this is illegal or not?
|
I used to get it quite a lot, never worked out where they got my # from
|
for instance,
[email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] etc |

Generally if you pay for incoming messages, it isn't legal.
Across Europe SMS spam is pretty commonplace, and you can actually sign up for a bulk SMS account from the phone companies. But in Europe it's sender pays... so it doesn't cost you anything. (I used to work with phone companies) |

I received an sms spam couple of weeks ago, but the dumb ass didn't hide the list of Fido customers he sent to.
I now have a nice list, and bonus! I can send from Fido's own website for free. |
I've never got SMS spam, hopefully it won't happen over here for a while.
I can't believe it's costing you to get spammed. :( |
