Is there any difference between the terms "shemale" and "tranny"?

If there's no difference, then what is the more popular search term among surfers?

And in general how does this niche convert?

Both terms are good. I've always coverted really well with tranny's/shemales/he-she's LOL

I don't think there is any real difference.

More people I know say Shemale. It's probably less likely than Tranny to bring up questions regarding whether it's pre-op or post-op despite the fact that there aren't post-op tranny's in porno (that I know of).

I would use the word "shemale" to describe a "pretty" chic with a dick and use the word "tranny" to describe a manly looking one. Also use "tranny"to describe one that looks like one of the cast memebers of the show "Sex in the City" (like Sarah Jesica Parker)

Of course you use the word "ladyboy" for something like this-
