Are you looking for a compact or SLR type ?? If you're looking for a compact camera, I HIGHLY recommend the Sony CyberShot DSC-WI, it's a beautiful camera that takes some pretty good pics :)

As far as where to buy the camera. I've learned that when it comes to cameras and camcorders, it's best to just use price search engines like http://www.pricegrabber.com to find your results. I know that I'm looking at buying a new camcorder and the prices on Ebay are a bit higher than what I'm finding through Price Grabber.

I enjoy my minolta dimage A1 quite often. and you can get one for under $600.00
