my last hike this summer (a couple of days before i broke my ankle)
 

i'm kind of bored, so i thought i'd post images from the last hike/scramble i did this summer (right before breaking my ankle)...

my brother and i worked our way to the top of Cascade mountain (in Banff) on August 10th. we fucked up on the hike about an hour in, wasting about 2 hours before back-tracking to the main trail. about 90 minutes in (not including our initial fuck up) here's the river you have to cross (using the log):

about 3.5 hours into the hike (after what seems like endless steep switchbacks) you get to Cascade's natural ampitheatre. this place is so totally isolated - the pictures don't do it justice. it's like traveling to a different planet:

Looked like a really nice hike. Very beautiful :)

One of the best ones I've done was up in Mendocino, CA. We found a perfect spot to camp at, right on the river bank. The day after when we decided to go upstreams, we saw bear tracks in the sand. Fucking shit my pants almost and heard imaginary bears all night after that :1orglaugh

The Bachelor and friends are on right now, in Whistler.

I don't really go on hikes that much anymore, but I do go outdoor climbing in Squamish (halfway between Vancouver and Whistler) in the summer...

I like to do the Grouse grind once a month or so in the non-winter months... It's a killer though. I used to be into hiking/camping but it's been a couple of years. Here's the last time I went, pretty nice scene to wake up to: (a lake in BC about a 4 hour hike from the nearest road)
