Stupid question concerning billing?
Hopefully not that stupid, so I'll ask.
People say 3rd (4th) party debit cards (actually the term "cards" throws consumers off) are the future of payment form for this industry. I believe epassporte uses them, so do most of Verotel's old sites and now ibill. The consumer uses credit from their visa for the amount of the site the want to join, say $9.95 for an example, and then uses the debit card and joins. Now the "virtual" debit card has a zero balance, which makes auto re-billing impossible. Since it's general business knowledge that re-billing is a huge part in our incomes, how can ibill pronounce such an option so optimistically? Most of my joints are holding steady and recurring over at CCbill, but I would appriciate any feedback on the above, since I have chosen not to send ibill $1500 more; when they owe 10 times that. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. |
Because all 3rd party processor know that eventually VISA will take away rebills on high risk businesses.
And as you can imagine, we are Very High Risk... So, they are getting prepared and are starting to slowly but surely send you subliminal messages about the benefits of their virtual card. Epoch will have ePassporte, Ibill has DuoCash and CCBill will come up with something similar very very shortly. |
