PHP PROGRAMMER REQUIRED

We are looking for an experienced PHP/MySQL programmer. Our company creates membership-based websites that utilize a database driven content management system. Additionally, our primary web property is a large web community based on the Vbulletin product, which has been heavily tweaked to provide extended functionality. The ideal candidate will understand membership based websites, access controls, internet cookies, and the Smarty template engine.

This position will allow you to work from your home anywhere in the world, but hours worked will coincide with 10am _ 6pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The idea candidate will have high-speed internet and work well on their own without direct supervision. Any applicant should be comfortable working around and with adult material. This is a full-time employed position and not suitable for development companies or those seeking short term development contracts.

Salary: 30-40K per year dependent upon qualifications and experience. Based on 40 hours per week. M-F.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems or computer science and knowledge of research techniques or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience: One or more years experience programming, preferably in a telecommuting environment.

Skills/Abilities: Fluency in English, excellent knowledge of HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, very good knowledge of securing PHP programming and writing clean efficient code. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to comprehend system and application related materials; design and maintain applications using database techniques; communicate with designers and non-technical project managers. You must be able to understand and follow directions.

Mental: Ability to work unsupervised in a telecommuting environment. Ability to communicate clearly and regularly with other team members. You must be an individual that pays attention to detail; meets deadlines; and works diligently without moment-to-moment supervision.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience: Experience working with load-balanced web servers, Red Hat Linux, Smarty Templates, and Vbulletin.

Skills/Abilities:
Design/redesign and develop programming specifications and requirements that are appropriate for and integrate well with our systems.

DIRECTION:
Works independently under overall objectives and direction, apprising the supervisor about progress and unusual complications. Modifies and adapts precedent solutions and proven approaches. Completed work is reviewed for timeliness, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.

DECISIONS:
Suggests possible solutions to users.

JOB FUNCTIONS OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

% Effort Essential Functions
60% Designs, specifies and creates new code for web-based projects.

20% Documents new designs, codes and modifications for subsequent use
by others.

20% Maintains existing applications. Corrects systems bugs. Writes
system enhancements. Performs table/code maintenance. Tests system upgrades.
Maintains/updates system and user documentation.
