Big Island - anyone there?
 

wondering if anyone here is from the Big Island of Hawaii
or has visited there? I'd like to vacation there for a month
with my family and wondering if anyone has any suggestions as
to which area is best to stay and why.

I was there in 2002. It's actually one of the lesser populated islands in the Hawaiian chain. Lots of space. Check out Hilo when you're there and also the live lava flows.
