It has to be asked. Will Bush crack down hard on porn to please his base?
Basically the Bush base, right wing conservatives concerned about moral values, won Bush the election. One of the issues, among a great many they will push Bush EXTREMELY hard for, that they will care greatly about is cracking down on porn. So... where do you think Bush will go with that issue? Will we see a big crackdown or pretty much the same old, same old?

I don't think there will be a big crack down
People like porn...they need it... they spend money on it... it drives the Internet! |
My worry is his attorney general and the fact that the Repubs picked up more seats in Congress. WHat happens when a seat comes up on the Supreme Court? I worry about who gets appointed and that has an effect that reaches way beyond Bush's presidency.

Same applies
If you run a legal ship, use legal billing methods not some "screw the surfer" billing tactics pay your taxes have proof that the content you use is legal content you will have no problems. Good idea is to always regardless who is presidentis to use a lawyer to review things and an accountant to make sure you have your financial stuff in order. Now to some what I just said is common sense but if its so common sense why the fuck do so many here not have the basics in order. |

Personally I think it will fall the the wayside again. Porn always comes up during an election and nothing ever happens. They may pass laws but porn isnt going anywhere. To many big coporations have investment in the industry not to mention the affect it would have on the economy if porn went down the tubes. Just isnt going to happen.

COPA
went to the SC........was quashed but by a 5-4 margin. The Supreme Court is old. Bush will be appointing activist Conservatives especially now that the Repubs control the House too. Get ready for COPA2. Get ready for 2257 enforcement. Get ready for obscenity charges. Don't some of you understand politics at all? Religious evangelicals handed Bush the Whitehouse, BOTH TIMES, but this time in greater numbers. Why do you think John Asshead was appointed the A.G.? He's a religious fanatic! You'd better get your heads out of your asses. |

Bush pushed legislation to make a 2257 compliance (a paperwork issue) a jail time offence and increased the amount if time you can go to jail. Even if the model is over 18. Fact Bush created a dept to specifically look for offensive websites. Fact Bush will have 1 if not 2 seats on the Supreme Court that he will be able to pass. Fact Bush is further pushing the issue of 2257 with the new proposed laws that he held off till after the election to vote on that will now go to a republican house and senate. Not theories even the squeaky clean big businesses can be targets and if you don?t think so just go stick your head back n the sand. Granted we (the industry) will win or I hope we will if challenged but the point is a challenge can seriously cripple a business |
