Does anyone here know anyone who's moved to La Paz or the Cabo area of Mexico?

If so - Is it pretty American friendly? Easy to do? DSL? American TV through Satilite? Was it hard to get furnishings through customs?

Let me know when you are going, we can buy a truck and drive our shit down there!

One of my old business partners moved down to Mexico about 12 years ago. He moved to Acapulco. Bought a fishing boat and started a fishing charter biz. He loved it down there but after 2 years said he missed all the diversity of Los Angeles and moved back.

I'm in Guadalajara. Please, all whiners, stay away from Mexico. We don't need any more whiny/bitchy Gringos down here. I'm American and I stay as far away from them as I can get.

You're in for a truly enlightening "culture shock" if you move down here. They've never heard the term "politically correct." The only reason I made it in and got the appropriate papers and all is I'm married to a Mexicana National.

No, Mexico is NOT the place for you. Try France or Spain. Or, you can be like Dalai and claim "Europe" and be a "chilango."

Uh, I'm not sure what post you're reading, but I didn't bitch or whine at all.... I could have started this post with a "boo Hoo, waaaaaa waaaaaa, I wanna leave big bad america".... didn't even mention that or anything. If you could search posts here on GFy you'd see that I've never bitched or whinned about anything. I keep that baby crap bottled up inside.

Mexico is a great place I plan on buying a vacation home there...
