ARS Webmasters Please Read
There was a thread last week about an ARS webmaster discussing his low conversions and why he thinks ARS was "shaving." I didn't think much of this discussion although I am also an ARS webmaster and experience the same wild fluctuations in conversions on a week to week basis. One thing I DID notice was after the webmaster kept accusing ARS of shaving, my conversion, and apparently the complaining webmasters' as well [based on a later post], went up dramatically. Then after the rucus died down, so did the conversion ratio.
Is this a coincidence? I've always applauded ARS on the boards since they're one of the few programs that let webmasters keep some of their exit traffic plus give them rewards points and other goodies. I just hope the incident I described above was a coincidence. Another explanation is that ibill needs paysite/program operators to constantly remind it to not be too overly hard on the scrub. If this is the case, maybe ARS and the other big programs that use iBill need to hire a person whose job is to monitor iBill? What do you guys think? Anyone have any ideas re sponsors that are very steady in their conversion ratios? |
I know one thing for sure : my conversions went to shit with ars this week.

As I read the thread last week I knew this was coming... the guys ratio would improve and someone would say EX_ACT_LY what was said above. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/frown.gif
Different ARS subject... I had a dream last night and was trying to figure out how ARS prints stats for 50 sites on the inside of their checks... or if they even do it any more (I haven't pushed them for a while). |

I had a dream last night that ARS sent a bunch of hot chicks to my house to service me.
Hey Marc, where the fuck are they??? |
I had a dream last night that Marc got tired of hearing this shit, closed his program to dumbasses and then people bitched wondering where the sponsor who paid $44 a signup, paid weekly on time and handed out reward points left and right, went...

I had a dream that someone answered my question instead of complaining about those ungrateful affiliate webmasters who keep "complaining" that their stats mysteriously changed last week due to a heated thread.

pimplink - Shawn posted on another thread about the nature of statistics. If you are with a sponsor and see consistant sales, believe it or not, that is fishier than ups and downs. Its VERY normal.
One day, 0 sales, next day 8, next day 11, next day 5. Its the way statistics work. You have to look over the long term, not hour upon hour. I hope that answered your question. And to make a strong statement, it has NOTHING to do w/ a special lever I turned since some webmasters were complaining. |
Marc De,
Thanks for your feedback. I guess the key to this game is diversification. I appreciate your response and don't take my question as a complaint. I think you run a great program that stands out from other programs [eg your exit traffic policy]. I just need to diversify. Quote:

----------------------------- Absolutely true Marc -- one reason that the law of averages is not called the law of every time http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif Think of it like dice -- the odds state that 1 out of every 6 rolls should be a 3 for instance. However there is no way that every 6th roll is going to be a 3 -- you might have 3,3,3, 1, 2, 4, 5, etc -- or you might roll 30 times and not hit a single 3 -- see what I mean? |
yah gotta have some stats to be printed... my check a few days ago did
