When you voted today...did you get carded?

Did they ask for your ID when you went to vote today?

mindoza 11-02-2004 07:24 PM

Yes! It said i was inactive but i voted for Gov. recently. I only had my phone on me and they wqanted me to go home and get my ID. Did a little pissing and moaning filled out an affidavate and then voted.

sickkittens 11-02-2004 07:29 PM

I didn't get checked which I thought was strange.

foolio 11-02-2004 07:30 PM

nope, same with my girl. They just looked at my pre-ballot thing.

Rochard 11-02-2004 07:31 PM

My name wasn't in the "regular" book because I had just signed up to vote shortly before the deadline. I was in the "special book", kind of reminded me of riding the "short bus" in high school.

Although I had my ID in my hand they never asked for it.

MrIzzz 11-02-2004 07:32 PM

nope, all i had to do was sign next to my old signature on record

That can't be possible. I went in really early and told them that I was you.

Yep. It was a 3 woman team at the table. First one checked my driver's license, second one looked my name up on the registry and crossed it off, and the third one had me sign-in and gave me my ballot and special black marker.

Honez 11-02-2004 07:44 PM

Nope. Although I handed them my voter registration card, they never asked any of the people in front of me. All they had to do was give their names and sign next to them.

Are you people serious?
How can you vote without identificating yourself? How bizarre.

TheJimmy 11-02-2004 07:47 PM

no, I just showed my registration card and that was it...

Yeah. And you can see the list of names right in front of you so you can just look down and say that you are one of those people. Although, they made me write my address on a piece of paper with my name but still...

jas1552 11-02-2004 07:50 PM

Nope. Showed my voter registration card and signed next to my name which was printed on a big list. I've never been asked for ID when voting.

xclusive 11-02-2004 07:51 PM

Yes they asked for my id when I went...
