How many anti-virus companies are manufacturing and releasing computer viruses?

Kind of like the mechanic who punches a hole in your radiator while he is chaning your oil? Nah, never happens.

It's a thought that crossed my mind, although having delt with less than pleasent people over the internet, I believe the majority of viruses are made by some kid sitting at home with no friends... I mean they could at least try to make a profit out of it. :Graucho

Yup, occured to me a long time ago and definitely wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

I've thought of that a few times - i need some free virus check stuff, the kind i have isn't working well

AVG has a pretty good free one

panda software has a good online scanner and offline one as well...
