how long does domain propagation take now?

Isn't it only supposed to take under an hour for a change in nameserver info to propagate across the web now?

cause i really need to hide something bad I did

Depending on the registrar it should take less than 1 hour.
Some registrars I have seen take up to 6 hours.
If it is taking a long time for the update you should contact their tech support and they will explain their policy and time to complete change orders.

I'm using godaddy.com for the registrar; the changes were made about 18 hours ago.

I'm setting up a new server & not sure if I've entered the info for the new domains right, but the tech support keeps telling me to wait 48 hours for propagation, which I think is far too long now isn't it?

in accordance to the new procedures and rulings put thru, domains should go live practically instantly.

i know I can register a domain, and by the time i fill in its URL forwarding info, it's live

i love it, it's the best thing that could have happened.

alternatively, if the DNS servers about your ISP dont update as often as they now should, it can take an age.
