Hopefully the winner will be confirmed sooner than last election. However, given all the challenges already (OHIO for example), I have a feeling that it won't be... unless there's a SOLID turnout for either candidate.

Well, there's a difference between polls closing and getting election results from those polls.

They also gotta sit there and inspect all the hanging chads, then they have to consult the Supreme Court on who they think should be the next president. This is how elections work now.

We should have had a contest predicting when the actual final results would be known.

I would have guessed Wed, Nov 10th @ 10 am.

I think it will be at least a week.

that is if there are no recounts like last time

but if all goes well, we will have a pretty good idea by 2-3am tonight...but not a final count..just a good idea
