"Planned Parenthood" agencies, what's the problem ??
 

Ok, there's a new "Planned Parenthood" agency in my local town and people are going apeshit over it, picketing it and everything else. What's the big fuss ??? Am I missing something here ??

From what I know, the place gives out condoms and birth control, they give out literature and tests on sexual transmitted diseases, and overall teach safe sex. That sounds like a pretty good place to have in the community to me, so why picket it ??? It's pretty much like a local health department.

Like I say, what am I missing here ?? One person says that they approve of abortion because if it's not "Planned", then abortion is the answer. I don't know if that's true. What are your ideas on these kinds of places ?? I'd like to know, he he he.

Planned Parenthood is wonderful!

They do give free exams, birth control pills, condoms, education, STD testing and etc. Its for teenagers (i think under 21).

I have no clue why anyone would protest.

Most clinics are open to all ages... some only deal with people with low incomes etc. And they protest them because some clinics perform abortions... I think they are the natural extension of the free sex clinics of the 70's. They did the same thing but usually weren't as nice.

So bombing, burning them and little things like that are ok to a Pro Lifer. Nevermind they might kill someone in the process.

i think they are mad because they hand out condoms which they believe promotes sex, not just safe sex. we had this issue, although no protestors, at my school back in the day

I rember when i lost my virginity planned parenthood is first thing we did.
Which is why I donated my tax refund check to the cause, in George W. Bush's name of course.

Why are people upset? Well, not everyone agrees that birth control, abortion, and so forth are good things. If they are providing these services to minors, some people will feel that this is parental interference.

I'm not saying I agree with any of this, but if you were honestly wondering (and it wasn't merely a rhetorical question), this is why people might be upset.
