Drive Duplicator
Anyone know of any good harddisk duplicating software? I found "DriveToDrive" which looks okay, but I need something that will make an exact workable copy, AND work with Win2k on an NTFS partition.

We use Power Quest utilities for doing that and more. Seems to work easily. Haven't gotten a new copy for awhile. But it was quick and easy with 95 & 98. Not too costly either. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

None of them work on my Win2K machine.
I've tried 4 them, including the ones mentioned above. |
What do you need a ghost proggy anyways ?
Just back it up manually and load the backup as soon as you reformatted/reinstalled OS and the programs. IMO those programs aren't safe. |
This PowerQuest one seems to be okay on my Win2k, but again, I haven't had a chance to actually burn an image to a disc yet.
I've done the manual backup thing for a long time EQ, but gawd it's a pain. And I'm running a dns server here now too and basically what I wanted to achieve was to have a duplicate on one of my other systems in case of hard drive or motherboard failure, I could just plug in one of the other systems and be right back up. Fix the downed machine at a reasonable pace instead of under a panic. If you guys have any other suggestions for a method of maintaining an exact duplicate on a daily basis, I'm open. Thanks for the input so far. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif |

Well, I just got a new batch of CDRWs and you were 100% right Lens... no go.
I got a bunch of file allocation errors immediately after running it. Any other suggestions for full disk backup? [This message has been edited by Xanobyte (edited 09-04-2001).] |
