I feel you, Depression is a serious thing and it can bring on alot of health problems. I was to a point in my life last year where my wife said I was in a very dark place all the time and that she felt like she was living with a demon and not a man because I just stayed full of rage one minute (never towards her) and in solitude the next, it caused a few marriage problems and almost ended our marriage at one point. Depression is no joke. I was lucky, I managed to work through it on my own and get my head on straight and form a positive outlook, even at the bad things, but thats easier said than done.

If you ever need somebody to talk to feel free to ICQ me or hit me on AIM, username MDCQ.

d00t 11-01-2004 11:21 AM

dude make some bling blingblingbling!

go to vegas, live life - it's far from depressing!

wyldblyss 11-01-2004 11:22 AM

Some people have a chemical imbalance that can bring on depression without anything out of the ordinary in your life causing it.

Work through it, or talk to someone about one of the anti-depression drugs.

xlogger 11-01-2004 11:23 AM

1 in 5 adults in some part of their life time will get depression..so im sure some of you already have it or WILL have it soon.

Trax 11-01-2004 11:23 AM

Every human being is once affected by despressions.
Even if its just a small winter depression.

So i think everybody knows how it feels

xlogger 11-01-2004 11:26 AM

im sure i have a chemical imbalance, because i dont know why i am unhappy at times.

and shit when i am sad i an REALLY sad..when i am happy i am REALLY happy...there is no balance.

Juicy D. Links 11-01-2004 11:26 AM

I beat mine without any kind of drugs at all. But it was not an easy thing.

Everyone gets depressed at some points in their life, the question is 'to what degree?' If you're so depressed that its affecting your ability to function properly (concentrate, control your anger, get basic things done, etc), then its probably time for you to seek profesional help and probably get on some meds. There's nothing shameful about getting on antidepressants or anxiety drugs -- usually it helps a lot.

Dealing with all the crap we have to in our lives its just a constant challenge one way or another. You're not alone. Everyone gets depressed. Money doesn't stop it either and sometimes makes it worse.

No ...i tried palix at first but it made me have no emotions .. didn't like it but it got me over the hump ... i still take xanax from time to time but not every day ...just when I'm going to be around large groups of people and family events like Christmas. If you see me at the show ..i'm most likely on xanax ...other wise i can't be in a group like that ...i get all edgy

how did you do that?

Head 11-01-2004 12:13 PM

I don't really have Kronic Depression but what you can try when you feel down is: go to the gym, swim or do something physical. And also try just putting a smile on and keep it as long as you can. And as big and goofy as possible. What this does is send 'nero-assositation signals to the brain which change your your state. As does the workout.
:2 cents:

Its really hard to explain. It was a combination of many things. I think you have to find the root of your depression, really dig into yourself psycologically and figure out what it is thats bringing you down, then attack it head on.

Sometimes you feel like you dont know why your depressed, but deep down you really do, and you can see it plainly some days, but its the avoidance of the bad that comes with depression (sleeping alot, cutting off personal relationships, etc..) trying to avoid what is bothering you, that causes the worst problems. I think facing it head on is the best thing for depression and its what helped me get through it.

reynold 11-02-2004 10:48 AM

Depression is inevitable. sometimes you really feel low. but you'll recover as time passby.

candyflip 11-02-2004 10:50 AM

I'm in the same boat with ya. The meds made a HUGE difference for me. I haven't had to medicate for over a year now and I feel like I'm back on track.
