Moore plans polling station watch
Filmmaker Michael Moore said he plans to have hundreds of cameras outside polling stations during the US presidential elections.
Moore, director of anti-Bush film Fahrenheit 9/11, wants to put cameras in place outside polling stations in Ohio and Florida on Tuesday. He said he wants to watch out for attempts to suppress voter turnout. In a statement he said a total of 1,200 cameramen will keep watch in the two presidential swing states. Moore said: "I'm putting those who intend to suppress the vote on notice: Voter intimidation and suppression will not be tolerated." Moore's publicist said the filmmaker also planned to visit both Ohio and Florida on Tuesday. Latest polls in both states suggest the race between President George W Bush and Democratic candidate John Kerry is too close to call. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...lm/3969441.stm |
