Who here lives with their parents still? How old are you?
I was 17 when I moved out. I packed my bags, kissed my Mom good bye and never looked back.
I can see being 18-21 (maybe 21) and still living at home as a guy and maybe up to 23 if you are a girl. But, outside of having a physical or mentel condition why would people stay? Free rent? Not responsible? No job? My thought is when you start getting into your mid to late 20s and early 30's you should be starting to take care of your parents and helping them and not having them support you. So how old were you when you moved out and if you are still there, how old are you and when are you planing on leaving? Just a curious question :) |
I'll leave around the age of 30

I was 16 when I was kicked out the first time... Lived on the street and in a flop house with friends, then went back home after a month.. Then when I was 18 I got the boot again, lived in my friends house with his family I shared a room and paid rent..
Then when I was 20 I got a place with my girlfriend who is now my wife.. Since then we have lived together... |

I moved out at 16, 13 years ago. Then moved across the country to put some nice space between me and the folks. |

Damn, I thought the title of this thread was "who wishes they still lived with their parents?" ;-}}}
I'd be more than happy to move my ass back in if my mom would have me. Life was so easy then... |
20 and I am living at home... will be renting out MY house though :)
I wont move out before getting married. |
I live alone.

LOL Funny comments for a few folks in here.

LOL Kimmykim.... Life was soo easy and its nice to help make my parents life little easier now considering how much they did for me while growing up. The thought of easy living is great, but not at the risk of taking advantage of my folks :) |
I moved out to another state when I was 21 to get married :)
I'll be 23 in 1 week (damn, didn't know it was this close) |
I relocated for a while for work related stuff, but now I'm back at home. A lot of the bills and my moms shopping channel addiction are paid by me :1orglaugh.
I'm 18 btw. |

I left at the end of my 17 .
And a reason why some1 could stay with their parents is to study :) |

I'm 18 and live with my father, not so much for free rent / no responsibility type things since i pay everything, i just try to take care of him since he's worked his whole life to take care of me and never really put back for anything like retirement. I'll prolly live w/ him till i can afford to give him his own place and pay for both his and my own living conditions.
|
i couldn't imagine living with my parents anymore. however, once my mom dies (very likely before my dad), i'll definitely ask him to come live with me.

My Dad will most likely die first. He is 67 now and is in bad health. Mom will be moving in of course. Thats the way it should be. :thumbsup Quote:

I was 16 when I made the move. Left home and never could spend more than 2 days at my parents ever since. Freedom is so nice.

When I was 18 I moved 2000 miles to San Diego for a better life and new opportunities. I ended up with a better life but the new opportunities never really happened, and the better life is pretty much attributed to things I've had in the works for 7 years. Funny how stuff like that happens.
Right now my dad is in the middle of getting married, selling 2 houses, moving into a new house, and to top it all off he's been out of work for 5 weeks due to back problems. So I'm helping him out a bit. He'd do the same for me, actually he did do it when I first moved. I was broke as a joke until I dropped out of college. One of the best decisions I've ever made. |
I moved out 9-10 years ago. Bought myself a house and moved directly from my parents place to the house (alone).

My mom actually lives with me and my family. She had a major surgery a few months ago and i'm happy to take care of her...
|
Left home when I was 16 and ran away to vegas. Back then I thought I would never talk to my parents again for the rest of my life.
Now - 13 years later my brother and I share condo payments for my mom since she can't work but I still could not live with her! |

It was a good time to buy. Houses were running cheap at that time and when I calculated on it, it was cheaper for me to buy a house than renting an apartment. |
im 18 and living at home not plening to leave :Graucho
but i do pay for my needs and help my family |
I've been here while my 2 houses are being built. Of course I pay for everything and I help out with the family. I stayed while I was in college so that I could actually study without hassle. The house is large enough and I have my own office as well as my room. The week I graduated, I purchased 2 homes and I've been waiting for them to be built ever since.
Call me a late bloomer, but I'm glad I was patient enough to save up the cash for new properties so I don't have to do the apartment thing. :thumbsup |
