shopping for a new computer...

Any recommendations on where to go? Anyone having any good deals that you know of?

Basic_man 10-29-2004 08:34 AM

I only know good local shop from Quebec, Canada.. maybe you can take a look at ebay !

If you want a laptop, I know Dell.com have some nice deal!

Jeff aka NIGHTfall 10-29-2004 08:35 AM

hmm... check out Dell or Gateway , they usally have good deals going on being they are always fighting for customers.

personally, i find it a better bang for your buck if you build it yourself... its not hard at all, and for the same cost of a Pc from a store, you can have 10x the power.:2 cents:

Not bad, the TV Monitor is pretty cool.

I got the laptop deal last week - got it yesterday - kicks ass.

Inspiron 9100
P4 HT 3.2 ghz
512 DDR
64 MB Radeon
(the battery has a built in subwoofer he hee)

for $900 Brand New

Might want to hurry though, these deals sell out fast.

It was a 24-hour deal. $500 off... I'm pretty sure it's over. It was only available to U.S. residents, I believe.

They have been running different deals everyday.
I got in on the $750 off any laptop deal.

But check the link I posted above for the desktop.

I agree, do not ger retail computers. If you plan on getting a prebuilt system get a dell. If you plan on building one yourself, buy parts from ebay.

A dell? Get a Mac to go along with your Apple iPod!

TheSaint 10-29-2004 01:01 PM

Its very hard to get a decent computer from the name brands, but try dell first. I always demand SATA (RAID) as I can't be bothered to worry about hard disk failure.

Last I checked you couldn't even get that from a dell desktop at any kind of reasonable price so I have bought quite a few computers from www.visionman.com who sells high end shit.
