Seems I'm going skiing again.

Victoria, out nearly 3 year old daughter, starts a new play school in January. One of the things on the curriculum is skiing, so she has to go and we have to buy her the gear.

Well if she's going Mummy and Daddy are going to, I skied when I was younger and loved it, Eva did some cross country skiing. We have the boots and yesterday we bought the clothing, now we need to get the skis and sticks and we are ready for the snow.

Eva's Mum lives up in the hills near to a ski lift so no problems staying there, all I need is for my knees to hold up. LOL

A 3 year old has to ski as part of circulum? Isn't that a tad strange that young?

Roald 10-29-2004 12:07 AM

skiing is great but boarding is better :thumbsup

Can't wait to leave for austria in march :glugglug

Skiing is a lot of fun, I spent many happy years skiing with my dad when I was younger.

I am actually looking at buying a condo right beside the intrawest village at Bluemountain Collingwood. :)

We are looking at skis for her and she's into the 1 metre size. There are two sizes smaller, start them young around here.

Actually you are wrong . They cannot learn more then a certain point because their muscles aren't fully developped . This is just not possible physically .

wrong, they learn the basics in a good way. I am not saying they are worldchamps or something. When you are older you tend to do it your own way instead of listning to the ones who know, now thats the part wich is important. And at that age they will listen.

I've tought anything from kids to 16 years old competition guys ... I've been to seminars and I'm considered a profetional (level 3 gets you pretty much anywhere in north america for very cheap or free ...)

Trust me I KNOW what I'm talking about ...
And the exercie we make people do do not let them learn on thier own .

We make them overdo every little movements one by one so they feal it right and get their balance . This isn't about if you wanna learn ... it's just about doing the training right to a certain level and your ski level will improve itself .

After a while you can tell what part of the 3 transition in the turn you got wrong and stuff like that ...

But anyways ... kids can't learn much ... 5 years old is kinda the minimum for a kid to really learn well . And they cannot do some movements before 10-12

Oh yeah I trust you, but you have to agree that young kids learn easier than the older ones.

It all depends ... if the person is good in sports and already skated a lot then the adult can learn a lot faster then the kid who don't have his full balance yet .

But kids tend to learn the base really fast .
