When program owners don't promote their own sites on paid traffic, it looks real bad on your program, espcially if all you offer is revshare.

How do you know they do not?

i spend about 50k a month promoting my own stuff, matter of fact ill mostlikly stop accepting affiliates

yeah, and they guy asked how do you know they dont?

I do promote my sites on paid spots and my ROI is 200-300% even without rebills.

Actually program owners that do well promoting their own sites are the most succesfull ones :) and we don't always hear about them

We dont buy adwords nor optimize our sites for Search Engines (even though we are PR7 on our site) because we let our affiliates earn money by doing it. There are lots of affiliates in our program who buy traffic from GOOGLE and other SE places and we don't want to overbid them. We decided its unfair to them.
Instead we concentrate on advertising offline mostly with great results :)

damn i am not talking about all program owners, just a couple i know personally
