Why are they still paying Ben Affleck $15 million a flick?
Ben's latest movie, Surviving Christmas, opened with a $4.4 million weekend.
Jersey Girl opened with $8.3 million. And there's Gigli.... The only movies he's been in that have done well have had some other major draw (Daredevil is a comic book flick, Pearl Harbor and Armageddon were big event films that would have done well with or without him). Why does he make $15 million a picture when he clearly has no box office draw of his own? |
He can't act for crap, either. :2 cents:

He learned the hollywood game!
He's not a good actor true, but wait he is a good writer :1orglaugh |

Because he signed a deal way before the bombs and because of daredevil and pearl harbor and armegeddon he can have pretty much a career full of flops from this point out and still made a profit for the studios...

He seems like a nice, cool guy, I'll give him that much. But $15 million a picture should come with some box office muscle |
studios make a lot more world wide anyhow then they tell you ... so it doesn't mean shit to them... and if it loses money it's a write off... he's got a big name... big enough for you all to be bitching about him... and that everyone knows him.
I like him because he's a poker player... and isn't afraid to admit it |

Funny, he doesn't do a thing for me. :1orglaugh |
The new movie just looks bad ... Matt Damon obviously did something right after Good Will Hunting.
