EZ domain theft coming?
I just received this email from our domain registrar. If you have domains worth preserving you shuld check on this issue.
"Very soon, ICANN, the regulatory group for the domain industry, will be requiring significant changes in the registrar-to-registrar transfer policy. New procedures require all registrars to auto-acknowledge (automatically approve) any transfer request received from another registrar without the current level of verification. Our concern is that this change creates an environment for diminished security for all domain holders." |
HAHA I got some good domains for sale cheap, cash only
|
Wonder if this has anything to do with people having hardons for my domains recently. Just got another bogus transfer request.

Hello, Mr Registrar I would like to transfer adult.com and gofuckyourself.com to my new registrar account in switzerland. Thank you...
|
What about registrar locking? Hmmm
|
Adult.com is not on registrar-lock at present, according to the WHOIS -- easy theft target, esp. if it's done by a registrar that uses FAX authentication.
Of course, Lensman has lawyers to hunt down malevolent folks who would try, but it's wise to lock all domains -- let the thieves focus on lower hanging fruit, first. |
Hm... Interesting.

I sail sex.com cheap :1orglaugh
j/k but I think there will have to be some sort of security set in place. Maybe this rule is to make registrars actually transfer the domains when you request it. |
The e-mail you are discussing was sent out to instill fear in people.
The new ICANN law makes it so Registrars can not hold your domains hostage as they do now. GODADDY are the biggest punk bitches when it comes to this. They will refuse all requests when you try to pull domains from their piece of shit operation. Sue me, truth is the absolute defense. -dd |
