How can I do a traceroute?
 

I´m having problems with my server speed and the tech told me to do a traceroute from my computer to the server. But I have no idea of what this is and what I should do...

Could you guys help me out?

go into a dos prompt and type tracert <server>

Start - > Run -> type "cmd"

then type tracert <host destination>

ex: tracert yahoo.com

do a remote traceroute at http://www.net.princeton.edu/traceroute.html

Tranza, FYI: "cmd" only works with WinXP

gives you speed comparison. could be just one hop that is having problems.
