whatever they claim it is not possible yet

you cant register .eu and you cant pre register .eu

PLEASE NOTE THAT AT THIS TIME IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REGISTER OR PRE-REGISTER A .EU DOMAIN NAME WITH EURid AND THERE ARE NO ACCREDITED REGISTRARS FOR .EU.

Sites have been taking pre-orders on new extensions for years now. It says right on the front page you only pay if they secure it.

duh , I know this happens but it is not legal and hold no grounds , sites that offer this don't even know if they will be able to sell those.

Umm, it's a service that is only paid for once completed. It makes a shit what they know they'll be able to do, if they secure the domains for people they get paid, end of story. It's not illegal.

i think these are the same people that send out renewal notices on .com .net and .org domains although they are not even the registrar. i've been getting lots of them, about 3 months before a domain is about to expire a letter arrives. the letters would be quite convincing to someone who didn't know better, with warnings about losing the domain unless a check for £89.99 or some obscene amount is sent to them. i think it's just about legal what they are doing but very shady.

the registration of eu domains is a complete scam though, do a search on google for eu registration scam.

IT IS !!

if you don't know what the fuck you are talking about then STFU , there have already been sites that had to close shop because of this!

you cannot take preregistrations for .eu it doesn't matter if you have to pay upfront or not

Yeah, Trading standards think it's the same people that send out those letters calling themselves "The Domain Registary Service"

that's the people. i've recieved about 50 of those so far this year. i just send them back in the addressed envelope without a stamp with "remove me from your database" written across the form, so that they have to pay for the return postage to see my reply.

i wouldn't mind so much but the domain that it concerns is viewable from the outside of the envelope. i went to school with my postwoman and when she see's big-breassted-cock-sucking-anal-sluts.com from the outside of the envelope it's a little embarrasing. (time to get a PO box i think)
