and no i dont mean the friggin red sox!


My girlfreind is from boston and she is trying to convince me to move back to boston with her in a few months. I just moved from NY to South Fla 1 year ago and do not want to move back east.

The kicker is we are in love, she is homesick like a friggin little puppy, i do not want to move period. Just moved up here and am quite happy in florida.


Why the hell would i want to live in boston?

south florida? i would stay down there especially for the winter. being from NY, i'm sure you know how brutal the winters can be in the north east. i guess you do have to make sacrifices for the ones you love. you have to decide this:
make your gf happy and live in a town of red sox fans
or
enjoy the unbelievable weather and risk losing her.:2 cents:

Your dead on, im a die hard yanks fan. Lived in NY for 28 years and had enough of it, the cold wheather and everything else. I came down to florida last year to start my life over, i did not expect to fall in love, but it happened. I planned on coming here to live for a few years now. There is no compromise here with her, if it wasent for me she would of moved back to boston months ago, were locked into a year lease which is good for me. Come sept of next year she is leaving back to boston and wants me to go with her. It's her way or the highway, i love living in florida and would NEVER want to live back east again. Esp in boston were i would be a fish out of water amongst red sox fans.

I just would hate to throw a 1 year realtionship down the drain, and it will cost me loosing the one i love. I really dont know what else to do.

you've got almost a year. plenty can happen. make sure you vistit up north during a blizzard and maybe she'll reconsider. i have always wanted to move somewhere warm. every winter i keep saying that this is it, but i don't have the balls to get up and move. i think the hassle of selling our home, leaving friends and looking for new work are the main reasons i haven't left.

I wish, but the fact is she is very homesick, all her freinds, family etc are there, the more times go by the more homesick she gets.



There is no changing her mind on this, thank god it's 10 months away but none the less its coming. Personally i dont like change, i have some freinds and family here and love it here in the south. She is hoping ill change my mind and move back with her, but its just not going to happen :( Also as you stated aswell, i dont want to start over again for the 3 third time, looking for a new job etc.

I feel ill be single again in 10 months, i dont think it will hit me quite as hard until the day comes when she moves back and im not with her. :Oh crap
