Do you get Phone spammed from your WHOIS registry? Does it piss you off or is it ....
Alright, I want to know.....am I the only person that gets PHONE SPAMMED from Adult companies who looked me up in the WHOIS Registry?
I have a Particular phone number listed for that reason and so ANY calls I get on it , I know are from someone who has looked me up in WHOIS. Ibill was the worst, forever calling me to get me to use them as a backup processor on my sites ( isn't that a joke now LMAO ) But today, I get a call on that line, have Jake answer it and when he says it is AVN, I decide to take the call.....only to find they have called to spam me to buy ads in an upcoming issue:feels-hot I mean WTF ....email spam is one thing but phone spam from your info in WHOIS ? And noone seems to ever READ the terms and conditions in the Whois registry... Where will it stop.... Ok, I feel better now :winkwink: Ivy |
No, but I recently noticed that I'm getting emails from ICANN about our domain names asking us to double check our info?
|
I can't even get ICANN to update my phone number to the one I want, so I get calls all the time. It pisses me off.
What's the point of their stupid yearly updates, if they do nothing. My registrar didn't have a problem..... AVN just sent me their adult show via snail mail. Just what I wanted my post office person to see. And, to add insult to injury...since telemarketers can no longer call, they are sending them to my door to drop off their stuff. That and all the lending companies and alarm companies who think I absolutely must refinance or arm myself.....as if five loud dogs weren't enough. Thanks for the thread. I feel much better now. |

fuck, spammers are now on our mobile phones too .. holy shit
i provided fax and a regular phone number for all our website, so i do not have this problem .. |
I haven't used real info in WHOIS for years! They'll rip everything.
Put the address to the White House, or Department of Defense. :) mC |

I never get phone spam, but that's probably because I'm outside of the USA... they're not smart enough to figure out what "+61" at the start of the number means. :Graucho

I'm surprised no one has mentioned to you how to solve this issue...
Get a 1-900 # and use that as your registrar telephone number. It won't block the calls, but you can make up to $4.99/minute. Have any salesperson explain everthing in great detail and then repeat it all back to them to make sure you understand it correctly! Stretch that baby out to over an hour! |

no but I get mail spam to my po box for shit.
|
Since I moved into this neighbourhood, I get person-spammed at least three or four times a week.
They scare the hell out of me, as they walk right past my office, which is in the front of the house. Tev's lucky. He has an office at the back of the house. Isn't it legal to shoot them? |
