escort business?
I know a couple of escorts and I was thinking of making websites for them because it would probably bring a lot more business. But, is this just going to land me in jail or is it legit to do?
Le me know if you have any experience with this. |
I think that it would end up landing you in jail.
Most states it is illegal to take money that came from an illegal source. So if you did it for free, they would say that you were getting a %, if you charge the girsl for it. they will nail you that way.. :2 cents: DONT DO IT. |
if you are going to be making a profit from them for the actual meeting between the john and the ho..then yes.. you could be doing something illegal, but if you are going to open them sites and make money off of memberships.. you shouldnt be liable for anything illegal.:2 cents:

Leave it to me...

Ya I'd only do it if I was getting a % but I'm just worried about the legal side. There are a couple other girls in this city that have had sites up for like years I think. Plus the adult entertainment section of the newspaper always has at least 10 girls or agencies in it.

So maybe I could build the sites and charge them like $1000 each a week for advertising, web design and hosting :)

The online escort game is played by two types of characters: Johns that use MS Frontpage (and think they can get some free nookie and make millions) and professionals that treat it as a serious business. Escorts are difficult clients to support on a day to day business. |

Just don't host their site or have their domain registered with any of your info on it.

That's a fact! |
As the proud owner of an agency in Atlanta, several escort sites and the previous owner of several escort directories and related sites, I'm happy to inform you all that the enforcement of escort related sites, their designers, hosting companies, etc. is virtually non-existent.
However, using the sites for enforcement on the girls is rampant. Realize that the law enforcement community only has several misdemeanor charges to choose from when enforcing virtually anything that has to do with this industry. Wasting the time and manpower necessary to prosecute a web designer, hosting company or other related person(s) for pimping or pandering (the two crimes possible for that position) would be difficult, time consuming and difficult to get a prosecution on. However, the person who previously said that before you consider doing ANYTHING in this industry, you should definitely know a lot about it was absolutely right. In some jurisdictions (including this one), just the word "escort" is a legal problem for escort sites. The laws are different from city to city, county to county and state to state. Additionally, the enforcement of those laws varies greatly, usually based on the political environment. Check with a local attorney that focuses on the adult industry. There's usually at least one "ponytail attorney" who works with all the strip clubs, escort agencies and such. The couple hours of chatting and a retainer are more than worth it in the end. Good luck... Just my :2 cents: |
